Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) may well be the greatest unseen danger facing humanity today.
Since the introduction of microwave radiation, wireless internet, and smartphones, we’ve seen an alarming rise in chronic illness—particularly neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS (Motor Neurone Disease), and MS. Cases of childhood autism, chronic fatigue, cardiovascular diseases, insomnia, depression, and anxiety have also surged dramatically.
A growing body of research now links Wi-Fi wireless radiation to these health issues and even to certain cancers. One of the reasons is its impact on our DNA. Here’s how it happens—explained simply.
The Hidden Turmoil: Subatomic Chaos
Wi-Fi and other EMF signals cause what’s known as subatomic chaos. This refers to the way tiny molecules in the environment start shaking and vibrating. You can see a dramatic example of this in action in a microwave oven—the same process heats up your food.
Shockingly, the frequencies used in microwave ovens are nearly identical to those used in most Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices. But unlike your microwave, these everyday wireless, so called “SMART”, devices don’t have protective walls to contain the radiation. That means this molecular shaking is happening all around us—in our homes, on the furniture, and even in the ground we walk on.
This chaos triggers a biological response. EMFs cause certain ‘doors’ in our cells, called voltage-gated calcium channels, to open. This leads to an overload of calcium ions entering the cells, sparking a chain reaction of free radicals, inflammation, and ultimately DNA damage.
Pineal Gland Disruption: Your Sleep & Healing at Risk
Wi-Fi also affects your pineal gland—the tiny organ in your brain that produces melatonin, our most powerful natural antioxidant. Melatonin is essential for deep sleep and for repairing damaged DNA. Without it, we struggle to sleep properly, and our body loses its ability to regenerate and protect itself.
EMFs: A Slow Burn
The effects of EMF exposure are not always immediate. They build up gradually and may take as long as 30 years to fully manifest. That’s what makes them so dangerous—many people never realise what’s harming them until it’s too late.
A compelling documentary provides an eye-opening overview of this silent threat.
What Is Electrosmog?
‘Electrosmog’ refers to the sum total of all artificial frequencies around us—from electricity and radio signals to microwave and wireless radiation. Common sources include:
- Household wiring and “dirty electricity”
- Computers, routers, boosters, and other electrical devices
- Mobile phone towers, smartphones, Bluetooth, and smart meters
- Satellite signals, radio waves, and radar
There are four primary categories of Electrosmog:
- Electrical: Household wiring and dirty electricity
- Electromagnetic (EMF): Devices like computers and appliances
- Microwave: Radiation from mobile towers, smartphones, and smart meters
- Radiofrequency (RF): Transmissions like radio, radar, and satellite
Dirty electricity happens when other, harmful frequencies ride along your normal 50 Hz home electrical current. These frequencies then radiate into your living space, potentially affecting your health—causing headaches, insomnia, fatigue, and more.
Are You Affected by Electrosmog?
You may be electrosensitive if you often experience:
- Headaches or brain fog
- Fatigue or poor sleep
- Anxiety or restlessness
- High blood pressure, Hypertension
- Symptoms that worsen during long electric car trips or after extended phone or computer use
Pay attention to whether you feel worse in areas with a high density of mobile masts, routers, or wireless devices.
How Can You Measure Your EMF Exposure?
Ideally, have your home assessed by a professional building biologist*. However, this can be costly. There are also affordable ways to measure basic EMFs level in your environment:
- Meters like the ESI 24, CORNET electrosmog meter can measure magnetic fields (from computers and appliances), electric fields (from sockets), and high-frequency radiation (like from mobile towers).
- Body voltage meters can detect dirty electricity exposure within your home.
These tools help you understand what’s going on in your environment—and take action.

8 Practical Ways to Reduce EMF Exposure
- Turn off or unplug your Wi-Fi router at night. Using a timer plug socket makes it easy.
- Locate your smart meter. If you live in a smart meter house, avoid sleeping within three metres of it. A smart meter guard or cover is highly recommended.
- Avoid cordless phones with a base station. These constantly emit EMFs, even when not in use.
- Reduce mobile phone use. Keep it on aeroplane mode when not in use. Don’t keep it near your head or carry in the pockets or anywhere that’s directly on the body. Wireless earbuds affect the brain directly, use anti-radiation headphones or a good old, wired earphones at least.
- Protect your sleep space. Mobile phones should be turned off, or at least deactivate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data and location from the phone and leave outside your bedroom. (Consider going back to clocks for alarm) Keep power cords and panels away from your bed. If you suffer from EMF sensitivity or could no start any of above, consider an EMF-shielding canopy, to your bedroom at night.
- Get grounded. Use a grounding mat or sheet while sleeping or working.
- Wear protective clothing. Shield your body from Wi-Fi with specially designed garments.
- Support your body with supplements. Helpful ones include Vitamin B6, rosemary, iodine, selenium and zinc. If sleep is an issue, try melatonin and/or CBD as a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
Feeling Overwhelmed?
You’re not alone. We’re surrounded by EMFs all day—especially through our phones and computers. Escaping them completely is nearly impossible unless you live far from civilisation.
Nature’s Answer: The Schumann Resonance
The Schumann resonances are natural electromagnetic waves created by lightning strikes around the Earth—roughly 7.83 Hz infrequency. This is believed to be the Earth’s ‘heartbeat’, and it has a calming, grounding effect on us.
That’s why we often feel more peaceful walking barefoot in nature, or on the beach. These natural frequencies help counterbalance the artificial ones bombarding us daily.
Back to Nature: A Return to Balance/Digital Detox
One powerful way to protect yourself is to ‘tune in’ to the Earth’s natural frequency. You can do this by:
- Spending time outdoors away from mobile phones and computers
- Walking barefoot on natural surfaces
It’s not always about total avoidance—but rather, about restoring balance in a world that’s increasingly out of tune with nature.
Let’s start talking about EMFs—not with fear, but with awareness. Because once we understand the danger, we can begin to take action.
